How animals work
Which processes allow animals to maintain their basic functions and to stay alive even under extreme conditions?
This apparently simple question is at the heart of Animal Physiology and often requires an understanding of the coordination of the many processes that make a complex animal work.
In our teaching activities you will learn to understand the basic principles of how animals (including us humans) work and you will get to know the major organs also including senses, motor systems and the brain. In our research we also address the 'stability of function' in various projects, from behaviors that are critical for survival, the stability of specific functions of the brain to the tolerance of some animals to strong electric currents.
